We get it; it’s a weird name. Probably only one person in a thousand knows the meaning of the word. Webster defines a bluestocking as “a woman having intellectual or literary interests.” Um. . .ok.
Actually, the word was used at the turn of the 20th century as a derogatory term for a woman who was interested in the kind of educational pursuits reserved for men, and who was apt to become a spinster because of it.
We like the word. We think it describes a person who is all about learning and putting that knowledge into practice, no matter the prevailing expectations. Bluestocking Media takes that concept a step further, by turning the cumbersome, top-heavy production model of the past into a lean, adaptable machine that can produce network-quality content without the network price. We bring the best men and women in the business to every project that we take on and we do it all with your end goals in mind.
We’ve learned how to do that through years of experience and the ability to marry the creative with the technical to produce the utterly amazing.
So it’s ok if only one in a thousand knows what our name means, because we’re about delivering a product that only one in a thousand can deliver. We’re also about partnering with our clients to produce excellent, unique content and when you’re ready to get started we’ve got a pair of blue stockings waiting for you.
